By having a cunning plan.
Yes, you have to be like Baldrick.
I have been an online blogger for some years now. I create content for several blogs with completely different content in each blog.
I have this blog at dkohara.com, which is centred on money making opportunities. I also run a blog which deals with local weather at durhamweather.co.uk. The weather blog came first, but it wasn’t monetised back then.
The two blogs couldn’t be further apart from a niche point of view. However, they have everything in common from an affiliate marketing point of view – I make money from both by using what i’ve learned about affiliate marketing.
What I have discovered is that as affiliates who are new to the marketing industry, we all tend to make the same type of mistakes at the start.
I am going to show you how to avoid these time and cash-consuming mistakes that I made before, while at the same time, offering you some great information on how to be a ‘super affiliate’ yourself.
Issues newbies have becoming active affiliate promoters
Having a Plan
First I will touch on the issues we all encounter as newbies to affiliate programs and marketing. Our biggest, most costly expense ever is not having a plan in the first place.
Sure, you can search for grand marketing programs that will bill you monthly for the use of their system and training. That will absolutely work if you have a plan and are willing to hand over much needed cash for expensive training you could be using in better ways to grow your business.
One thing I have observed from the many marketing platforms I’ve used is that only a small handful of users actually take off with success immediately.
By the time the system they are paying for works for them, they are already in the hole with big expenses from those expensive recurring monthly training fees and the learning process for that platform has taken too long to get you on the right track fast.
Don’t get me wrong, i’m not promoting get-rich-quick schemes, i’m just trying to get you there as quickly as possible without you spending a fortune first.
Minimize your choices
Start your journey with one opportunity and learning platform only. Adding too much, too quickly will either have you pulling your hair out or getting so overwhelmed you just give up. You’ll spread yourself too thinly. Don’t do it.
Don’t add too much fuel to the fire in the beginning. Learn through one platform completely with an established step-by-step directive that lays out details for your plans and goals.
Know your marketing niche
You know you want to be a super affiliate, but do you know what you want to sell, or to whom you will sell it? It’s almost impossible to promote Uncle Fred’s awesome hunting guide to vegetarians or animal rights activists.
You want to sell Uncle Fred’s awesome hunting guide, so you need to be aware of where your target audience is for a hunting guide.
What if you have followers that followed you because of the way you dress?
Some may be interested in Uncle Fred’s awesome hunting guide, but chances are, you will lose their interest if you don’t deliver your style ingredients.
This idea brings me to the importance of establishing an email list to best provide what each individual is interested in so that you are relevant to their needs.
Build your email Lists
Your first list is always going to be made up of the people directly around you. You know the audience, and you can establish product lists based on this list quite quickly.
Knowing how to create and build on your lists can be very confusing and time consuming without the proper knowledge and tools.
Your marketing platform should provide in depth worksheets and tutorials for you to successfully build your lists according to your action plans.
The ones I have used in the past and paid monthly fees to use did not offer this, and assumed that the knowledge was there, but I had to learn from scratch.
Another failure for me because they never covered all I needed to know about lists. Not until now anyway. Now I know the best training to use to learn all about building lists as well as all the other secrets.
Focus on the only the best products
Slow down when the time comes to choose a product or create a product list for a specific audience. Know your sources and seek out the top proven affiliate networks with the top paying products to serve your customers.
Now don’t get me wrong, just because a product will pay you more does not necessarily make it worthy of investment for your readers.
If you are promoting a product to people that trust you, and they then decide that product isn’t worth what they have paid, they will not be so quick to trust you with the next product you try to promote to them.
Keep it real, and don’t sacrifice your followers for cash for junk or sub standard products. You’ll regret it.
Be totally consistent
Be consistent in all you do from the types of products you offer to the content you update. Your viewers expect whatever you do to be done on a consistent level, and Google will think more of you too.
If you are a blogger and offer recipes on Wednesdays, then be sure you continue with that every week. Your viewers will see your activity and they’ll look forward to seeing what’s next.
If you stop offering the content they are after, they’ll stop looking for you and go elsewhere for their entertainment.
There’s so many affiliates fill in the gap with programs offered out there that it’s tough to find one that has it all laid out for newbies. I have only seen this depth from one source and of course, I had to jump on it, so can now promote it confidently.
Here’s the training you need. This is the program I followed to get me here.
It has totally changed my affiliate status from almost no earnings to an organized, detailed, proven system that I can keep up with and earn big on.
